About Lorena
Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, I have roots that go as deep as the live oaks that grow there (my great-grandfather’s photo is even hanging in the city’s regional history museum). In 2012, my partner and I moved to Brooklyn, NY where we currently reside.
Passionate about writing and travel, I have extensive experience doing both. I’m also interested in foreign languages and linguistics. Mostly though, I’m a big geek who loves Doctor Who, Star Wars, Marvel, and Harry Potter.
Creative writing began at age eight when I started to pen my first chapter novel, Baseballs Don’t Bounce. This potential literary masterpiece unfortunately did not make it past chapter three. I, however, kept at writing. My first novel, a spy thriller called On the Cusp of the Earth, came out in 2012. Committed to always learning and honing my craft, I’m an active member of Brooklyn Speculative Fiction Writers and Creative Academy for Writers.
If I’m not writing or geeking out, you can find me snowboarding, watching Manchester United and the Pittsburgh Penguins, and reading. I’m an avid collector of cassette tapes, my most prized find being Salt ‘n Peppa’s Blacks’ Magic for 99¢ at Rock ‘n Roll Heaven in Orlando.
